About Tanya WhiteTanya White was Director of Development, an accomplished writer/producer whose objective is to create and develop content for television. She welcomes opportunities to be part of a writing staff for network, cable or internet programming.
Ms. White began her career as an actor in Chicago's vibrant Theatre community. Her resume includes work at The Goodman Theater and Court Theater. As a writer she is an NEA grant recipient, author of two produced plays, and a published essayist. An award-winning director, she expanded her skill to include producing the successful run of a play, traveling to Scotland as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She is especially proud of her work as a teacher/facilitator for the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development. Over the course of six weeks she taught teenagers job skills through the creation and touring of an original theatre piece. With a passion to translate her skills to television production, Ms. White moved to Los Angeles where she studied at UCLA Extension taking classes in Television and Film Writing, Entertainment Business and Development. As part of Higher Ground Productions, she wrote and is co-producing a vehicle for Yolanda King, Dancing on Higher Ground and coordinated the Martin Luther King Day event, “Call to Consciousness.” This day-long event featuring workshops, panel discussion and culminating in a performance by Yolanda King finished “in the black” and heightened awareness of the Higher Ground brand. . |
